This week we received the wonderful news that St Augustine’s has been identified by ACARA, the national testing body, as having demonstrated substantially above average growth for students in reading and numeracy achievement in NAPLAN results. This places us in the top 3% nationally for student gain. This is fantastic news, made possible only by the hard work of teachers, parents and support staff. My appreciation especially goes to Michelle Scott, Naomi Loader and Kyanne Kachel who have worked tirelessly to bring about this result. The school focus is on every child growing every day, not just in the NAPLAN test, however it’s great be nationally acknowledged for our focus on growth. Robert Randall, the CEO of ACARA sent the following: On behalf of ACARA, I would like to extend my congratulations to you and your school community on this achievement. Improvement in student literacy and numeracy of this magnitude, as measured by NAPLAN, is significant and worthy of highlighting and acknowledging.
